Hello! Driver Training Hello! Driver Training was founded in 2005 to help driving instructors start or develop their teaching career. We help you to realise your full potential and build a career in the driver training industry.

Only the best will do - using modern training techniques, providing an honest and open approach to driver training, we do our utmost to offer the best service to all of our clients.
We are independent of any major driving school, so you have the freedom to work with a driving school or, we can assist and support you in setting up your own driving school business.

DSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI)
The Course Process Becoming a DSA ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) you must sit and pass 3 tests. Part 1 Theory & Hazards Perception can be taken as many times as you like until you pass, Part 2 The Driving Test must be completed within 3 attempts and Part 3 Instruction Test must also be completed within 3 attempts. You can take these tests at any test centre in the UK that is approved by the DSA. Training for an ADI qualification can be completed in around 4 – 6 months depending on your experience and knowledge. In addition to this all three parts of the qualification must be completed within two years from the date you pass the theory test (Part 1). Most of our training takes place in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and North London. Our courses are fully flexible, and can be completed at a pace that suits you.Tutor support, regular 1-2-1 sessions are provided to supplement and boost your skills. We want you to pass the tests and use your skills to be the best professional instructor out there.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
You need to pass the DSA examinations and meet the following legal requirements:You must have held a full licence for at least four years prior to entering the DSA Register.Hold a full UK or EEA unrestricted car driving licence. UK Category B Car. Be able to read a number plate from a distance of 27.5m with glasses if worn. Be a fit and proper person to have your name entered on the DSA Register.You need to apply for an enhanced criminal record check (CRB).Have no more than three penalty points on your licence.

Every day is different and a new challenge.No previous experience necessary.      

There are three parts to the ADI qualifying exam:      A computer based theory test in two parts (Part 1) A practical test of your driving ability (Part 2) A practical test of your ability to instruct (Part 3) You must pass all three parts of the examination in consecutive order and you must complete it within two years of the date you passed Part 1.

Theory Test - Part 1
The 100-question theory test has a choice of four answers per question, ensure to read these questions carefully as some questions require more than one answer. You have 90 minutes to complete the test and you must get a minimum score of 85% to pass. The second element of Part One is a Hazard Perception Test. You are shown 14 video clips and you must spot developing hazards involving other road users. Some video clips will have more than one developing hazard. By clicking the mouse button as soon as you see the hazard your response time is converted into points. To pass you must score at least 57 out of 75.

Driving Ability Test - Part 2  The test lasts for about an hour and you must:Be able to read a car number plate at a distance of 27.5 m (90ft) to pass the eyesight test. Be sure to test yourself at a longer distance well before you start applying to become an ADI. Answer 5 out of the 19 show me / tell me questions.
Pass a driving test at an advanced level. A very high standard of driving is required.

Test of Instructional Ability - Part 3
This test lasts for about an hour and is in two phases of 30-minutes each. Your ability to instruct pupils at different stages in their training will be assessed. You must pass both phase one and phase two in the same test to pass.How do I get startedBefore you part with any money check your eyesight meets or better still exceeds 27.5m (90ft) with or without corrective visual aids and you have your current driving licence to hand.

When you have passed part 3 you will then need to register with the DSA as an Approved Driving Instructor.    The registration fee is £300 and is renewed every 4 years thereafter.

HOW TO PAY FOR YOUR TRAINING     

      OPTION 1 – PAY AS YOU GO
     
Driving instructor training from £40 week plus training materials if required.
 
     OPTION 2 – FULLY PAID UP COURSE
     
This course gives best value and includes all training materials but not DSA test fees, is £2303 payable ten calendar days before the course start date.
     ELC claimants are required to pay (£460.60) this is 20% of the £2303 course fee.

     OPTION 3 - AGREED PAYMENT DATES
     Option 3 requires you to pay for each part of the course in advance, prior to the next phase of training.      There are six equal payments of £400 each:
  • Part 1 - £400 paid ten calendar days before the course start date.
  • Part 2 - £400 paid ten calendar days before the course start date.
  • Part 3 - £1600 (4 payments of £400) dates agreed with client in writing.
The full cost of Option 3 is £2400.
Option 2 & 3 include all training materials but does not include DSA test fees.

EXAM FEES: exam fees are paid to the DSA.
